Red Bucket Follies
Red Bucket Follies is Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS's annual year-end celebration, a thank you to the Broadway community and donors following six weeks of red bucket fundraising. The event has always centered the company members who carry that effort, putting dancers and ensemble performers in the spotlight they've earned.
The 2025 design takes that tradition literally. A single dancer anchors the key art, but he isn't alone — archival images from past Follies numbers are layered directly onto him, so the history and community of the event become the light source itself. A single figure becomes a tapestry.
The visual language balances sophistication with warmth. The goal was theatrical but inviting — the feeling that this spotlight could belong to anyone in the room.
The campaign extended across two performance nights, each requiring its own ticket design. Rather than treating this as a production constraint, it became a design opportunity: an alternate version of the key art was developed for the second night, giving each performance a distinct identity while staying within the same visual system.
The result is festive and luxe, classy and dramatic — and above all, communal. A fitting close to six weeks of collective effort.
